This is the best Gothic film I've ever seen. Take your time with this one. Let it sit. Let it babble. Then you'll feel it.

This one scene: A man sick in bed, haunted. Not in a horrific way, but a true way. It makes the hairs in my neck stand up. It's profound to me. Also, it’s the best alternative to the Beauty and the Beast archetypal tale out there.

Anderson does the impossible by summoning the supernatural without showing it.
Remains one of my all time favorites. It's very subtle, but I love how it feels to me like something haunts this film like something haunts the man portrayed. Very \"romantic\". Very \"gothic\". Damn, what a picture.
